Upgrading to WordPress version 3.0 can have quite some downfalls. As soon as I installed it I lost my Twitter connection. So far I have been using the “WP to Twitter” plugin, and it actually still functions under the 3.0 version. Nevertheless, I am now unable to modify the plugin parameters, which hurts especially when I add new categories.
Following these guidelines will help Google find, index, and rank your site. Even if you choose not to implement any of these suggestions, we strongly encourage you to pay very close attention to the “Quality Guidelines,” which outline some of the illicit practices that may lead to a site being removed entirely from the Google index or otherwise penalized. If a site has been penalized, it may no longer show up in results on Google.com or on any of Google’s partner sites.
I personally run a number of blogs and websites filled with advertisement through several affiliate programs, and I still don’t make enough money to cover my monthly grocery bill. I have heard of one blogger in Singapore who is very successful by making roughly $800 per month, but he got there through very hard work and he got there after years of creating websites.

More and more people find my website and try to cancel the scam services I report about. Yes, they contact me to cancel their service!
As a passionate blogger you feel that you are protected by First Amendment rights, but, while freedom of speech is a major pillar to a democratic foundation, it does not protect you from malicious law suits by, let’s say, a business feeling you caused them profound loss of income by posting misleading information about them.

Nasty Comments – A Blogger’s Lament
I do respect any deserving comment to my posts, whether they agree with me or not. I do enjoy a good discussion, and in some cases I do learn from comments. I may even learn that my assessment of a certain situation was wrong. I can live with that. What I don’t enjoy is insult, and I don’t practice it. I think I can expect the same from people who feel inclined to comment on my writings.
